Stephenson County Circuit Clerk Nate Luy backs Chesney

Freeport—Stephenson County Circuit Clerk Nate Luy has endorsed Andrew Chesney for State Representative in the 89th Illinois House District. Luy was elected to the office of Circuit Clerk two years ago after serving as an employee of that office for six years. He is a lifelong resident of Stephenson County and a Freeport High School graduate.

“I have worked with Andrew Chesney in his capacities as both the Chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Party, where I serve as Secretary, as well as his position as Alderman at Large in the City of Freeport. Andrew Chesney is a hard worker and a thoughtful participant in the business of the city council. That is exactly what we need in Springfield today,” said Nate Luy.

“I am a lifelong resident of Stephenson County and I have come to know many people and more recently many leaders. Andrew Chesney is the type of leader we need now to bring change in Springfield. He brings a lot of business experience as well as the right kind of political experience. We need an aggressive hard charger like Andrew Chesney to actually get things done and represent our region in Springfield,” said Luy.

Chesney announced his candidacy for the 89th Illinois House district seat in September following the announcement that current State Representative Brian Stewart (R-Freeport) would be seeking election to the Illinois State Senate upon the retirement next year of current State Senator Tim Bivins (R-Dixon).

A native of Shannon, Illinois, Chesney is the current alderman at large in the city of Freeport and a division sales manager for Seaga Manufacturing in Freeport. He is also the current chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee. He and his wife Kelly live in Freeport. The 89th Illinois House District is made up of parts of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties.
