Through legislative action by Illinois Democrats, our state is sadly known as an abortion haven. Over 56,000 abortions took place in Illinois in 2023. Of them, nearly 17,000 were performed on women who traveled to Illinois from other states for their procedure. The number of women who traveled to Illinois for an abortion in 2023 spiked 49% from 2022 to 2023.
I am Pro-life, but make exceptions for pregnancies that are the result of rape or incest and those that jeopardize the life of the mother. I have consistently opposed the use of tax dollars for abortions and have fought every effort in the Illinois legislature to expand abortion access.
