CHESNEY RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT FROM STATE REPRESENTATIVE JOEL SOSNOWSKI

Freeport—State Representative Joe Sosnowski has endorsed Andrew Chesney for State Representative in the 89th Illinois House District. Representative Sosnowski has served in the 69th District since he was first elected in 2010. Prior to that he served as a Rockford Alderman and as an Alderman in Dekalb.

“I am happy to lend my support to Andrew Chesney is his race for the nomination for State Representative in the 89th District. Andrew will be a welcome addition to the Republican Caucus in Springfield. Andrew’s knowledge of the issues and his steadfast conservatism are in critical need,” said Representative Joe Sosnowski.

“We need rock solid principled people in our ranks in Springfield. The Chicago Democrats are ramping up their agenda and I can tell you that those issues that they are pushing like progressive taxation do not match Northwest Illinois values. I think Andrew Chesney will be an asset in the discussion and the debate that is going to take place after this upcoming election,” said Representative Sosnowski.

“I am honored to have the support of Representative Joe Sosnowski. Joe is a friend and a mentor and I look forward to working with him should I be elected to represent the 89th District. I have followed Joe’s tenure in Springfield and have found him to be a steady hand at the wheel when it comes to pushing legislation,” said Andrew Chesney.

Chesney announced his candidacy for the 89th Illinois House district seat in September following the announcement that current State Representative Brian Stewart (R-Freeport) would be seeking election to the Illinois State Senate upon the retirement next year of current State Senator Tim Bivins (R-Dixon).

A native of Shannon, Illinois, Chesney is the current alderman at large in the city of Freeport and a division sales manager for Seaga Manufacturing in Freeport.  He is also the current chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee.  He and his wife Kelly live in Freeport.  The 89th Illinois House District is made up of parts of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties.
