CHESNEY RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT ABATE PAC
Freeport- Andrew Chesney, candidate for State Representative in the 89th Illinois House District, has received the endorsement of ABATE PAC. ABATE PAC is the political arm of A.B.A.T.E. Illinois, A Brotherhood Aimed Toward Education. The group advocates for motorcycle safety education and legislation in Springfield.
“We the trustees, of Abate PAC and on behalf of our members of Abate of Illinois have chosen to endorse you in your Primary Election race of 2018 for the 89th Representative District,” read a letter addressed to Andrew Chesney and signed by NW Region Trustee Neal Toepfer.
“Andrew Chesney was an easy pick for support by our organization. He is very bright and aggressive and will be a great addition to the Illinois Legislature. The issues that the General Assembly takes up regarding motorcycle issues are very important to our members and we want to make sure that we have legislators like Andrew Chesney who understands those issues,” said Neal Toepfer.
“It is an honor to have the support of such a great civic minded organization like ABATE. Their issues are mostly safety issues and rights issues involving motorcyclists. We are on the same page on these issues and in our general philosophy that government should not intrude on the rights of citizens who wish to exercise those rights,” said Andrew Chesney.
Chesney announced his candidacy for the 89th Illinois House district seat in September following the announcement that current State Representative Brian Stewart (R-Freeport) would be seeking election to the Illinois State Senate upon the retirement next year of current State Senator Tim Bivins (R-Dixon).
A native of Shannon, Illinois, Chesney is the current alderman at large in the city of Freeport and a division sales manager for Seaga Manufacturing in Freeport. He is also the current chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee. He and his wife Kelly live in Freeport.
The 89th Illinois House District is made up of parts of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties.
