CHESNEY RE-ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF THE STEPHENSON COUNTY REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE

Chesney Re-Elected Chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee

Freeport—Andrew Chesney was once again elected to the position of Chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee. He received the unanimous support of members of the Central Committee which is comprised of locally elected Precinct Committeemen. The vote took place at the Stephenson County Republican Convention which occurs every two years following the Primary elections.

“I am honored to once again having been chosen to be the Chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee. I have worked hard in support of candidates and will continue to do so in this important upcoming November election. As a candidate myself I have learned the important role of the rank and file Republicans who work their precincts and know their voters the best,” said Andrew Chesney.

“Andrew did a great job as Chairman by both building the party locally and reestablishing relationships at the State level. I’m excited to see how he’ll continue this progress in his second term,” said Stephenson County State’s Attorney and former Stephenson County Republican Central Committee Chairman Carl Larson.

“The Republican Party needs leadership now more than ever and it is reassuring to know that a proven leader like Andrew Chesney will fulfill that role. Andrew knows what it takes to win elections and he knows the hard work that is needed to accomplish that goal. His appreciation for the work we do in the precincts is a testament to his understanding of the electoral process,” said Stephenson County Republican Central Committee Vice-Chairman Cindy Lawfer.

Chesney announced his candidacy for the 89th Illinois House district seat in September following the announcement that current State Representative Brian Stewart (R-Freeport) would be seeking election to the Illinois State Senate upon the retirement next year of current State Senator Tim Bivins (R-Dixon).  Chesney won the Republican nomination for the 89th State Representative District in the March 20th, 2018 Primary election.

A native of Shannon, Illinois, Chesney is the current alderman at large in the City of Freeport and a division sales manager for Seaga Manufacturing in Freeport.  He is also the current Chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee.

He and his wife Kelly live in Freeport and share their home with Nicholas who Andrew met through the Big Brother program. The 89th Illinois House District is comprised of Stephenson, Jo Daviess, and portions of Carroll, Whiteside, Ogle and Winnebago Counties.
