CHESNEY ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF AN AGRICULTURE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Chesney Announces formation of an Agriculture Advisory Committee

Names Lanark Farmer Lou Lamoreux as Chairman of the Committee

Freeport—Andrew Chesney has begun the formation of an agriculture advisory committee that will be chaired by Lanark farmer Lou Lamoreux. The committee will meet monthly to discuss issues of concern to farmers and farm communities. The formation of the advisory committee builds on an informal group of farmers involved in Chesney’s successful Primary Election securing the Republican nomination for 89th District State Representative.

“The agricultural industry is critical to the economy of Northwest Illinois. The formation of my Agricultural Advisory Committee will give voice to the concerns of farmers in this region and will allow me to stay attuned to those concerns. If I am elected in November this committee will remain a regular part of my effort to be informed on agriculture issues as a state legislator,” said Andrew Chesney.

“I am honored to have Lou Lamoreux as Chairman of this committee. Lou currently serves as the District 2 Director of the Illinois Corn Marketing Board and is a past President of the Carroll County Farm Bureau. I am looking forward to the first official meeting of this committee and the input that the members will provide,” said Chesney.

“Andrew Chesney is a proven leader here in Northwest Illinois and I look forward to serving as chairman of his Agriculture Advisory Committee. Agriculture and farmers play a unique role in the economy of this region and the concerns of farmers need to be heard and they need a voice. Andrew Chesney will be that voice in Springfield that we need,” said Lou Lamoreux.

Chesney announced his candidacy for the 89th Illinois House district seat in September following the announcement that current State Representative Brian Stewart (R-Freeport) would be seeking election to the Illinois State Senate upon the retirement next year of current State Senator Tim Bivins (R-Dixon).  Chesney won the Republican nomination for 89th State Representative District in the March 20, 2018 Primary election.

A native of Shannon, Illinois, Chesney is the current alderman-at-large in the City of Freeport and a division sales manager for Seaga Manufacturing in Freeport.  He is also the current chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee.

He and his wife Kelly live in Freeport and share their home with Nicholas who Andrew met through the Big Brother program. The 89th Illinois House District is made up of parts of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties.
