BERBERET AND FERRAR JOIN CHESNEY’S CAMPAIGN TEAM

FREEPORT—Republican candidate for the 89th Illinois House seat Andrew Chesney proudly announced today the addition of two new members to the campaign’s Communications Team today.

Jim Berberet is the recently retired executive director from the High

land Community College Foundation. Berberet is also a retired President and Chief Operating Officer at Ultrasonic Power Corp. He also was Sales and Marketing Manager for Anchor-Harvey Components for almost 20 years.

“Andrew has the ability to secure consensus and bring about inclusion,” said Berberet of Chesney. “I’ve been impressed with his effectiveness as an alderman and his ability to work with diverse groups to foster the change to the city manager form of government for Freeport,” said Berberet.

Jim Ferrar is a retired Treasury Department manager and Naval Reserve Officer. Ferrar is known locally for his advocacy for Stephenson County seniors.

“The State of Illinois is the worst in the nation relative to its financial situation. Having watched and worked with Andrew Chesney in his role as a city alderman, I believe Andrew has the character and skills required to tackle our problems in Springfield and set Illinois on the correct fiscal path,” said Ferrar.

“It’s a true honor to have Jim Berberet and Jim Ferrar helping me in this campaign. Both men have earned a tremendous amount of respect and admiration in our area for the work they do to help our students, our community college, and our seniors,” said Chesney. “Our next state representative will need to have a deep bench of community leaders to work with and have the ability to assemble diverse voices around the table to gain insight on the issues facing our region. I’ve done that as a city alderman and I hope to continue that leadership approach should I have the honor of representing our area in the Illinois General Assembly.”

Chesney announced his candidacy for the 89th Illinois House district seat in September following the announcement that current State Representative Brian Stewart (R-Freeport) would be seeking election to the Illinois State Senate upon the retirement next year of current State Senator Tim Bivins (R-Dixon).

A native of Shannon, Illinois, Chesney is the current alderman at large in the city of Freeport and a division sales manager for Seaga Manufacturing in Freeport. He is also the current chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee.

He and his wife Kelly live in Freeport. The 89th Illinois House District is made up of parts of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties.
