CHESNEY ENDORSED BY SMALL BUSINESS PAC

Freeport—Andrew Chesney, candidate for 89th District State Representative, has been endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business Illinois PAC. The NFIB IL PAC is”…the largest small business advocacy association in Illinois and the nation.”In a letter sent to Chesney the NFIB IL. PAC stated: “As you know, small businesses make up 90% of the Illinois business sector and employ half our workers so we need you in Springfield to fight against excessive government tax schemes and anti-business mandates. We need you to work for rational economic policies.”

“The endorsement of the NFIB IL. PAC is very important to my campaign. As they point out in their letter 50% of workers in this state work for small businesses. Adverse tax policy and mandates on small businesses here in Illinois have caused some businesses to leave the state or lay off employees in order to make ends meet,” said Chesney.

“Speaker Michael Madigan and his allies in the house have hurt workers with their anti-business policies. I look forward to working with small businesses and their employees to find solutions to the issues that they face and creating an economy in Illinois that will mean more jobs and a stable government,” said Chesney.

Chesney announced his candidacy for the 89th Illinois House district seat in September following the announcement that current State Representative Brian Stewart (R-Freeport) would be seeking election to the Illinois State Senate upon the retirement next year of current State Senator Tim Bivins (R-Dixon).  Chesney won the Republican nomination for 89th State Representative District in the March 20th, 2018 Primary election.

A native of Shannon, Illinois, Chesney is the current alderman at large in the City of Freeport and a division sales manager for Seaga Manufacturing in Freeport.  He is also the current chairman of the Stephenson County Republican Central Committee.  He and his wife Kelly live in Freeport and share their home with Nicholas who Andrew met through the Big Brother program.

The 89th Illinois House District is made up of parts of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties.
